Manipur: Section 163 Imposed in Tamenglong Over Old Tamenglong–Dailong Boundary Dispute

Prohibitory orders have been clamped at Tamenglong district in Manipur owing to a boundary dispute between the Old Tamenglong villagers and Dailong village. The District Magistrate Tamenglong issued necessary directives in this regard. The prohibitory orders have been imposed since it has come to the knowledge of the district administration that there is a likelihood of arson, disturbance to normal life and potential breach of peace.
As per the prohibitory orders imposed under Section 163 of BNSS, there will be no assembly, rally or gathering of 5 or more persons within the Tamenglong headquarters area. No person shall carry any arms, ammunition, or explosive substances till the prohibitory orders in place. The orders shall remain in force until further orders.
