Time for a classic cocktail!

This is a Vieux Carré, which I've seen spelled as a veux carre, veuxcare, aVucarey, a Vucare, or even a Vucaray! But no matter how you spell, it, there's no denying the allure of this classic cocktail recipe.

It was created in 1938 by Walter Bergeron at the Carosel Bar in New Orleans, and has undergone a little evolution since then. I enjoy the recipe from diffords, so let's get to making it!

Vieux Carré Cocktail Recipe
22.5ml Rye whiskey
22.5ml Red Vermouth
22.5ml Brandy
10ml Benedictine
2 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Stir, strain into Old Fashioned glass with ice, lemon zest and garnish
