I originally painted a smaller picture of this island, Koh Kaeo Yai in Thailand for the @forplanetocean June Challenge: Protect What You Love. Someone recently commented that they wished I did more landscape paintings, so I decided to film myself painting a larger version of this island :)

This is the real time version- it is long but you can hear me talking while I paint and explaining my process. I’m still a beginner so I do make mistakes but you can see me correcting them as I go. If you’re going to follow along, I recommend you watch through it first so you don’t make some of the same mistakes I did!

Paints used:
Sennelier: Pthalo Blue, Forest, Hookers Green, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber
Daniel Smith: Viridian, Buff Titanium
Liquitex: Soft Body Acrylic, Titanium White

Brushes used: Princeton Snap Angle Shader and 6 long round. Princeton Neptune round 6 and 10. Cheap old brush for acrylic.

Paper: Baohong 100 % Cotton Block, 12.2 x 9 inches
