Meet Emma Smith MRICS – Chartered Building Surveyor | Harrison Clarke

Emma joined Harrison Clarke in 2025, bringing with her 18 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry and four years in the surveying field. She began her career qualifying as a carpenter and joiner, progressing to running the family business before deciding to embark on a new career.

Emma achieved a First-Class Honours degree in Building Surveying from the University of Portsmouth and has recently passed her APC (Assessment of Professional Competence), achieving Chartered Building Surveyor status. Emma has a passion for construction history, building restoration, and historic properties.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, cold water swimming and getting muddy on adventures with her dog.
