Kasey spent the most notable part of his youth development at Charlton Athletic.

Having impressed against Chelsea during the 2012-13 FA Youth Cup, Kasey joined Chelsea in March 2013. He made his Under-18 debut against Manchester United in April 2013.
A first choice in midfield in 2013-14, he was central to an excellent start to the Under-18s' season, scoring and providing goals in plentiful supply. Like some of his youth team standout team-mates, he was given early opportunities to test himself at Under-19 and Under-21 levels as a first year. A mid-season injury slowed his progress somewhat but as he regained fitness towards the end of the season he became an influential super-sub in the Under-21 Premier League title success and the club's run to yet another FA Youth Cup victory.
