Ikwechegh's bail was set at 500,000 naira with the requirement of two sureties. The incident leading to this legal case involved an altercation with a Bolt driver named Stephen Abuwatseya outside Ikwechegh’s residence in Abuja.

The alleged incident, which took place on October 27 in the Maitama district, was widely shared on social media through a viral video. In the video, Ikwechegh is seen in a heated exchange with the driver, reportedly upset because the driver asked him to approach the car to collect his package. The confrontation attracted significant public attention and debate on social media, with many voicing strong reactions to the incident.

In court, Ikwechegh faced three charges related to assault and making threats against Abuwatseya, with the case filed by the office of the inspector-general of police. Ikwechegh pleaded not guilty, and his defense team promptly requested bail. Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id agreed to the request, stipulating the bail conditions of 500,000 naira and two sureties of the same amount. These sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and present utility bills to confirm their address.

The case is set for further hearings on November 8, 2024, with Ikwechegh's legal team preparing to defend against the accusations. The incident highlights ongoing discussions about public figures’ behavior and accountability, particularly regarding how they interact with everyday service providers.
