This video was recorded in Vanilla Valheim, patch 0.215.2 on Steam. This combo has been tested on both mouse+keyboard and on controller. I have not been able to test this on Xbox.

While this has not been confirmed by the developers, these combos are likely a bug caused by animation cancelling. As such, they might be patched out at any time.

Basics on how to perform the combo: This combo works best with 1-handed swords and knives. One handed maces and axes, along with two-handed battleaxes and atgeirs get a bonus hit from the extended combo that does not deal any bonus damage. Sledgehammers, spears and Krom do not get any sort of benefits. Hold block throughout the entirety of the combo. Attack once, then once the weapon goes back into the block animation resume attacking. You will know that the combo has been performed correctly if your second swing comes out as a backhand swing with the sword or a quick double slash with knives. At this point, you can either finish the combo normally or press and hold the power attack button to deal a powerful finish. For the swords, the powerful finish deals three attacks that each do the same damage as the normal power attack stab. For the knives, the powerful finish deals two hits that deal the same as the jumping power attack. For Skoll and Hati, they get an additional three hits that deals the same damage as their jumping power attack.

Additional ways to start the combo include simply replacing the block with a crouch, blocking and then jumping, or simply jumping and attacking at the same time.

For the extra trick with the knife, just press the normal and power attack buttons at the same time, or press and hold both at the end of a normal attack combo. The knife does two damage hits at the power attack modifier, while only using the stamina of a normal power attack. Twice the hits, twice the damage for the same amount of time and stamina!
