Make a thumb pick from any flat pick and a zip tie. It stays on the thumb very well, is good for strumming, flat-picking and fingerpicking styles.
You can also use a rubber band rather than a zip tie but is not as sturdy or stable. Frankly I like it better than a regular thumb pick because they are too stiff and loud - but hey my playing isn't affected either way as it is so bad.
Takes a minute to get used to and probably longer for fingerpicking but I like it.
Update: I really do like using this thing - it stays on my thumb and I can fingerpick better with it - gives a nice thumping bass note.
