A new study just revealed dangerously high levels of toxic chemicals in some of the most popular menstrual products in the U.S.

Researchers at Indiana University tested 59 reusable feminine hygiene products — including period underwear, reusable pads, menstrual cups, and incontinence underwear — from brands across North America and Europe.

And here’s what they found:

Nearly 1 in 3 contained extremely high levels of PFAS — also known as “forever chemicals.”

And the worst part?

Even products labeled “natural,” “organic,” or “eco-friendly” weren’t safe.

And remember these products sit in contact with the most absorbent skin on your body — for hours — allowing these toxins to seep straight into your bloodstream.

So how do these chemicals even get in?

Because companies add them to make the products more leak-resistant, water-repellent, and stain-proof.

But there’s good news:

Some brands were completely clean.
