Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - Incineroar the Unrivaled Failures

Описание к видео Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - Incineroar the Unrivaled Failures

I did mention that Incineroar the Unrivaled was the subject of a pretty tough 7-star Tera Raid Event, and here are a few examples of that. Though there are only three raids, less than last time, and a much shorter video, there was a lot more editing work here because the last match had someone with a URL nickname (and shows that just because you got a free sample from one of these places doesn’t mean you’ll coast your way to victory).

Though I won’t be putting up individual analyses of these matches this time around, I need to make mention of one Pokémon in particular I kept seeing over and over that gave me no end of problems:

Clefable.

I can see the idea behind it: Clefable has a native type that hits Dark for super-effective damage, and it has Unaware to ensure Incineroar does the same damage regardless of how many Attack boosts he gets. However, Clefable isn’t a wall, and Incineroar can wear down a Clefable with Flare Blitz and Iron Head after two to three hits (or less than that sometimes, for some reason). During then, most of these people are using Calm Mind until Clefable faints.

It was weird to see so many people use the same unworkable strategy. I’m guessing someone had left bad advice towards the beginning of this Tera Raid Battle event that then got picked up, passed around, and recommended by people who hadn’t actually played this raid.

Of course, there’s special mention of Rabsca at the third raid in this video. Rabsca has perhaps the worst type combination to deal with Incineroar, being weak to both of Incineroar’s types; while one is super-effective, the other has no effect, but Rabsca, like Clefable, isn’t a wall, and a single Flare Blitz is enough to take it out (and Rabsca’s low Speed ensures it will never get an attack in). Could be that someone decided to use that raid to show off their shiny Pokémon, thinking it will bring awe and admiration from the other players, but since they’re doing it at the expense of the raid, all that happens is that they draw ire from their teammates. (Not shown is a raid where someone brought in a shiny Quaxwell. Not even Quaquaval, who’s fully-evolved, but Quaxwell. I can think of no reason why this one was selected other than to show off the shiny Pokémon.)
