First Mount Hyjal GDKP, Did I Pay Too Much For This?

I've stopped raiding with the guild in phase 2 of WoW TBC Classic due to not being able to play during evenings, so I'll be hitting the only raids that I can find during the day, these are primarily gdkps, and this is how the first Mount Hyjal on the 1st day of Phase 3 went, TLDR GDKP - when players bid gold on an item, highest bidder wins, and after all the gold is accumulated from the purchases in the raid, it is devided among raiders. Usually it is performance-based, the better your perform (more dps, more healing done) the more your cut will be, but due to this being the first week of phase 3, to keep people focused on mechanics, the split was equal. But that's changing starting week 2. I even managed to get my 1st item during the raid, though I was pretty confident I wouldn't be able to afford any of the prices during the 1st two weeks since people are obsessed with getting an edge on others by snatching as much loot as they can at the start of a new phase.
