Israel-Iran Conflict: Stock Market In Red; Which Stocks Were Impacted & How Much Investors Lost?

On April 15, Indian benchmark indices commenced trading on a weaker note, reacting to escalated tensions in the Middle East. Over the weekend, Iran launched a significant attack on Israel using a variety of weapons, including missiles, drones, and cruise missiles. This was in retaliation to Israel's strike on an Iranian consulate building on April 1, resulting in casualties. Consequently, both the Sensex and Nifty opened lower, with a decline of approximately 0.86%. Within just 15 minutes of trading, the market capitalization of all listed companies on the BSE plummeted by Rs 6 lakh crore. Nifty sectors such as PSU banks, realty, and media saw declines of 2%, while auto, financial, metal, pharma, and oil & gas sectors opened with losses ranging from 1-2%.
