Stunning and radiant 3.25 CTS Natural peridot gemstone sourced from Pakistan and custom cut in Bangkok. This measures approximately 10.1 x 7.5 x 6.4 mm and is cut into an oval shape.

The gem has an intense glow similar to the other peridot stones in this batch. The stone is in excellent condition with no discernable damage other than a few very faint surface marks as shown in the magnified photos.

There is an interesting story behind these peridot stones. I wanted to source peridot that was clean, deep colored, and with a high end glow. I wasn't satisfied with any current sources so I had these cut for us.

These were sourced from high quality raw material from Pakistan, and were custom cut in Bangkok from a personal friend of mine that works in the gem market there.

This particular gem presents all the desirable attributes of a high end peridot stone. The clarity of the stone is very good with slight natural inclusions found under examination. This would be approaching eye clean and classed as SI clarity.

Peridot is quite an interesting stone. It is generally formed deep within the earth and brought to surface from volcanic eruptions. A very small percentage of peridot comes from extraterrestrial origins from meteorites, but generally speaking they are volcanic in origin. In ancient Egypt they were sourced from a volcanic island called Zebragad, and the Egyptians treasured them so much they kept the island's location secret for generations.
