The Laki Eruption in Iceland in 1783 - Land Warden Storie

Описание к видео The Laki Eruption in Iceland in 1783 - Land Warden Storie

Interesting interview from 2006 but Kári Kristjánsson landwarden at Laki/Lakagígar goes trough some history points from the deadly 1783 volcanic eruption that killed 30% of all Icelanders and 50% of all livestock.

The eruption had its origin from the Grímsvötn volcanic belt but its Icelands most active volcano. Here's my recent video overview covering the last 4 eruptions.

The consequences for Iceland after Laki eruption was also known as the Móðuharðindin or "Mist Hardships" They were also disastrous but this link is a good starting point if you want to get more info on this.
