Feature Details
Softball / Baseball Complex Lagoon Park Softball Complex has six fields, carefully maintained infields (clay), Bermuda grass outfields, and seating for about 1,000 per field. It hosts many area leagues and tournaments.
Golf Course Lagoon Park Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation course (parkland style), designed by Charles Graves. From the back tees it can stretch over 6,800 yards. Other golf amenities: lighted driving range, chipping/putting area, lessons, etc.
Trails & Nature Areas The park includes Lagoon Park Trails — over 6 miles of natural surface trails (single-track, double-track) for walking, hiking, biking, bird-watching, running. Some parts of the trail system traverse hardwood forest, pine flats, creeks, meadows, and a lagoon and beaver pond. One of the main loops (Lagoon Park Trail) is about 2.4 mi and considered “easy.”
Pete Peterson Lodge & Rentals This lodge overlooks the lagoon and is available for group rentals. Picnic shelters are also available through the city’s parks & rec department.
Other Recreation Tennis courts, a playground, picnic areas, shelters, and other sports facilities are part of the complex. There is also a disc golf course established more recently: 18-hole with concrete tees, carts allowed in some areas, and mixed-use nature.
