किडनी बीमारी में सांस की समस्या | Breathing Problem in Kidney Disease | Signs of Kidney Failure
Many kidney patients experience symptoms like anemia, swelling, and breathing difficulties, often without knowing the real cause. Weak kidneys struggle to maintain proper blood and fluid balance, leading to serious health issues. Ignoring these signs can make the condition worse over time. In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan explains the reasons behind these problems and how to manage them effectively.

𝟭. 𝗔𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮
Anemia is common in kidney failure because weak kidneys cannot produce enough hemoglobin. This leads to extremely low levels, around 5-6, causing weakness, tiredness, and difficulty in doing daily tasks. The body needs more oxygen, so the lungs work harder, making breathing fast and putting extra pressure on them.
𝟮. 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘁
In kidney patients, fluid buildup in the feet can move to the lungs when they lie down. After 5-10 minutes of rest, they may start feeling breathless as the fluid reduces lung capacity. This makes it harder for the lungs to carry oxygen, leading to discomfort and difficulty in breathing. Over time, this can cause constant fatigue and weakness.

One major cause of swelling in kidney patients is low total protein and albumin levels, which can be checked in KFT or LFT reports. When these levels drop below normal, the blood becomes thinner, causing fluid to leak into tissues and lead to swelling. This fluid buildup, known as edema, often affects the feet, legs, and even the lungs, making breathing difficult. Managing protein levels is essential to prevent excessive swelling and related complications.
