Splendid Skandagiri Night Trek |Near Bangalore |Sunrise Trek |Karnataka

This video is about night trekking @ Skandagiri hills of Karnataka, India. It is a mountain fortress located at Chikkaballapura, at a distance of 61 km from Bangalore, Karnataka. Trek starts from Papagni Temple located at the foothills of the hills in the Kalavara village. This night trek to the hill top is very popular and it’s a unique and memorable experience.

The Skandagiri Hills Trek is allowed only with the permission of the Forest Department of Karnataka. For that, you have to book tickets online prior your trek dates through their official WEBSITE myecotrip.com. There are 2 slots available - 4 AM and 8 AM. You can choose either of them. Entry fee is Rs.250 per head and only limited passes are allowed per day for trekking @ Skandagiri. So book your tickets in advance. Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation mail with the details. Contact number is also provided in the website, if you have any query. Forrest officials will check your online booking before the trail. Please make sure you carry at least one Government ID proof. One forest guide will be accompanying throughout the trek. I will recommend to take the 4 AM trekking for an exciting night climbing experience through the forest. Regular trekking ,you can do any other places also.Trekking starts in pitch dark. So carry torch /headlight.

It is a 3.5km trek on one way and it will take around 1 and a half hour to climb up. You will get a 360 degree panoramic view of the surroundings from the top. Skandagiri is located in the Nandi Hill ranges, at a distance of about 61kms from Bangalore, 35km from Devanahalli Toll Plaza and 5 kms from Chikballapur, Karnataka.

The best time to visit the Skandagiri Hills is in between November- February as there are fewer chances of rain and the scenery is green and the view from the hilltop is mesmerizing.Some experiences we cannot put into words. This night trek amidst the wilderness is also one like that.
