Great Cars: FIRE ENGINES

Описание к видео Great Cars: FIRE ENGINES

This fast-paced program documents the ancient search for a better way to fight fires. Through dramatic recreations, the audience will be transported back to the first colony in the United States at Jamestown, Virginia, and see how fire nearly destroyed the hopes of these early settlers.

A fire company in Historic Williamsburg, Virginia, reenacts and brings to life the bucket brigades and the first fire pumper used in the colonies. The audience will see how difficult a task fire fighting was for the founders of the country.

While everyone agreed that fire fighting was important, we'll find out how political bosses, bent on preserving their jobs, tried to interfere with the purchase of better fire trucks. Along the way we'll clear up the controversy about Mrs. O'Leary's cow starting the Chicago Fire; see Press Barons use lurid accounts of fire fighters to sell newspapers; learn the real stories of the heroes who've put their lives on the line to make dramatic fire rescues, and find out about the fascinating history of the development of fire fighting technology. At the end we'll see how the majestic fire rigs and fire trucks of yesterday are lovingly restored to their former glory. #firedepartment #firetruck #fire #firefighters #firefighter
