Sony Xperia Z5 Premium - First Look Specs
Sony returns with a new camera and a fingerprint reader in the Sony Xperia Z5.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a large smartphone, there's no second opinion about it. Anyone whose hand isn't used to handling a phablet might find it weird to hold a beast of this size. Thankfully, the power and volume keys of the handset have been brought closer to the user's thumb, where they're easy to reach. The power key, in particular, hosts a fingerprint scanner, which can substitute your lock screen PIN. The scanner is convenient to use as it is fast and accurate.
As we made it clear already, the 5.5-inch IPS LCD display on the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is one of its key selling points. 2160 by 3840 is the exact resolution of the panel, producing a pixel density of 806 ppi. To put things into perspective, a Samsung Galaxy S6, which is one of the leaders in the category, packs "just" 577 pixels per inch. Sony's TRILUMINOS display tech, which aims to improve color accuracy, is also on board.
