In 1978, the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation was founded to serve as the city's economic development catalyst. For 45 years, DEGC has led the charge on the transformational projects throughout the City of Detroit. Today, we continue to move the needle forward for ALL its residents.

Between 2017-2022, the DEGC generated $7.56 billion in new investment. In 2022 alone, $1.9 billion in investment was brought into the city.

Since 2018, the District Business Liaisons have had over 11,000 touchpoints with local business owners. Motor City Match has awarded $14.3 million in cash grants to more than 1,600 small businesses in Detroit. Detroit Means Business has disbursed more than $18 million in cash grants to elevate Detroit entrepreneurs.
