Fallout New Vegas Permadeath: The Tragedy of Locke Smith

We attempt to go through Fallout New Vegas with the following ruleset:
1. Spin a randomized wheel to determine the character's specialization
2. This specialization must be maxed out as soon as possible (within reason)
3. If this character dies, they are dead forever, and you must start the game over from the beginning.

Can Locke Smith make his way through the Mojave, or is his journey doomed from the start?
