[HDR10+] Second Ride on Knoebels Scenic Skyway (05/17/2024)

I decided to take a second ride on the Skyway before I left the park for the day. Compared to my first ride of the day on the Skyway (   • First ride on Knoebels Pioneer Train ...  ), I changed the settings on my S24 Ultra and filmed this video with HDR10+ enabled. You probably won't notice much of a difference, though, other than in the color grading.

The Scenic Skyway is a Mueller triple chairlift. It was initially built in 1978 at Sugarbush, VT, where it operated on Mount Lincoln as the Spring Fling lift. It was 2,775 feet long, running from Valley House base up the Spring Fling trail, supplementing the Valley House double and Super Bravo triple. After Super Bravo was upgraded to a Doppelmayr high speed quad in 1995, Spring Fling became redundant as a backup lift, especially since Valley House was better suited to serving as the reliever lift for Super Bravo (it ends higher up, and one can still access the Heaven's Gate and Castle Rock chairlifts from it by taking the Reverse Treverse to Lower Jester to Heaven's Gate Traverse; Spring Fling could only access Spring Fling trail, lower Snowball, the Eden Glades, and Racer's Edge). Sugarbush removed the lift in 2002, the same year that the Green Mountain Express was installed on Mount Ellen, and sold Spring Fling to Knoebels, who reopened the lift in 2003. It is 1,300 feet long (roughly half of its length from Sugarbush), with a 360 foot vertical rise from the base next to the Impulse to the summit of the ridge, and has ten towers and 71 chairs.
