2024 Summit Point Classic CAT 4/5 Saturday

The sun rose over Summit Point Raceway, casting a golden glistening glow across the track. Excitement buzzed in the air as cyclists prepared for the thrilling race day ahead. The Route 1 Velo Team with Ernesto, Edwin, Vidya, and I were determined to ride passionately and leave everything on the track.
As the race began, the nerves and excitement kicked in, with fierce determination, their wheels kicking up dust as they navigated the twists and turns of the challenging course. My heart raced as we accelerated, broke, and took those technical turns 4 - 5 wide. There is nothing like feeling the wind whip through your face and the thrill of the competition pushing you forward.
It was a fun course and a fun race. I felt great during the race but as the theme of the season goes I kept going into the washing machine and was mostly in the back of the lead group. Looking at the footage I should have pushed in the second to last lap or even sooner if possible to have a better position. But then, I look at my heart rate and it was high, I was giving everything I had. Every turn at the beginning was scary with people getting a feel of them and some just turning harder mid-way like the carrousel turn. It was great to have Ernesto surprise us since he was on a trip. To have the three of us, 3 Cordilleras Cycling and Vidya was awesome. Ernesto came top 10! Edwin came top 20!
