২০২৩ সালের ৭ মে নরসিংদী জেলার বেলাব উপজেলায় লালনের আখড়াবাড়ি ‘পুলকিত আশ্রমে’ হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে৷ এ সময় আশ্রম ও বাদ্যযন্ত্র ভাংচুরসহ বাউল শিল্পীদের উপর নির্যাতন করা হয়৷ এই ঘটনা এবং সারাদেশে সাধু, ফকির ও বাউল শিল্পীদের উপর নির্যাতনের প্রতিবাদে রাজধানীর শাহবাগে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এক গানের সমাবেশ৷ সমাবেশের নাম দেওয়া হয়, ‘গানের আর্তনাদ’৷

গানের আর্তনাদে গান করছেন ভুক্তভোগী, বাউল শিল্পী মিন্টু ফকির।

[On May 7, 2023, an attack took place on the Akhrabari 'Pulokito Ashram' of Lalon in Belabo Upazila of Narsingdi District. During this time, Baul artists were tortured along with destruction of ashrams and musical instruments. This is happening all over the country. A song rally was held at Shahbagh in the capital to protest the torture of Sadhus, Fakirs and Baul artists. The rally was named, 'Cries of Songs'.
