Eight years ago, the first Refugee Olympic Team walked into the Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
In that team stood Rose Lokonyen – the first flag bearer for the Refugee Olympic Team.

Her steps sent ripples around the world. Each step showed young people affected by displacement – fleeing persecution, violence and conflict – that they can achieve. She gave them hope 🙌
