A game with a short history but a deep impact, Space 1889 has been two RPGs, a series of novels, audiobooks, a video game, and even a feature-length movie. Despite this, it's relatively unknown, even though the 2nd edition is barely a decade old. It's considered the first steampunk RPG, just as steampunk was becoming a word. It's got all the trappings of Victorian adventurism, British colonialism, borrowing heavily from Howard, Verne and Wells. And somehow makes the Prussians into accidental good guys.
