To prospectively evaluate long-term effectiveness of implantation of a small-aperture IC-8 intraocular lens (IOL) either bilaterally or contralaterally with a monofocal IOL

Summary:

Patients achieved and maintained excellent monocular and binocular outcomes for near, intermediate, and distance vision

Bilateral patients achieved better near and intermediate visual acuity than the contralateral group
Patients report low symptoms and high patient satisfaction

Contralateral and bilateral groups also achieved comparable photopic and mesopic CS results

The IC-8 IOL maintains 20/25 or better visual acuity with up to 1.50 D of astigmatism regardless of axis

The IC-8 IOL performs statistically significantly better than trifocal IOL in the presence of induced astigmatism
