2002 Lincoln Blackwood 4X2|Walk Around Video|In Depth Review|Test Drive

For a long time, I have wanted to feature the Lincoln Blackwood on my channel, but has been very elusive. One day, while searching across the website of Community Chevrolet, I noticed that they had one in stock! I immediately reached out to the GM and he confirmed that indeed they had it, and if I wanted to review it, to come on out! So, today, I finally get to feature one of my favorite Lincoln's, the Blackwood. Call it America's First true LUXURY pickup truck. Here's the story...
It’s January 1999 and The North American International Auto Show is starting. Over at Lincoln’s booth, amongst the Continental, Town Car and the brand new Navigator SUV, Ford introduced the F-150 SuperCrew-based Blackwood on the show stand. What the press saw was the very first pickup truck from Lincoln, with a power tonneau cover, dutch door tailgate and a stainless steel-lined bed wrapped in genuine African Wengewood panels with stainless inlays…
Sadly, the novelty was lost on the press. Is that a bed?? Or a trunk? In any event, it seems that Lincoln had foresight into the then untouched Luxo-pickup segment that wouldn’t be popular for a few more years. The Blackwood was ahead of its time.
