A visual comparison between soft armor, single curve and multi-curve hard plates on someone with more of a dad bod than operator. Lemme tell ya, the difference matters and is more noticeable than you think in both feel and look.

The soft plates and multi-curve hard plate are Botach's house brand. I bought them with my own money and have no association with them. The single curve hard plate is Bulletsafe brand. Both hard plates are similar in thickness and effectiveness. The key difference is the shape.

Plate carriers are a Velocity Systems LEPC for the soft plates and a Ferro Concepts Slickster for the hard plates.
Yes, I actually wear and practice/train in these, I can't help that i don't beat the crap out of them and they clean up well. LOL. You can't see most of the marks and wear in the video. I have NOT done any shooting or real field work with the multi-curve yet, this is more in the nature of a first impression and "holy cow, why didn't I do this sooner" video in that sense.
