Originally airing from September 1966 to March 1973, Mission Impossible ran for a total of 7 seasons and 171 episodes. The series chronicled the exploits of a small team of covert government agents, known as the Impossible Missions Force, or "IMF", who use sophisticated methods of deceiving and manipulation to thwart hostile Iron Curtain governments, third world dictators, corrupt industrialists, and crime lords.
