A customer brought in an Ovation guitar that had gone from playable to worthless overnight because the bridge had started to lift off. Unfortunately, the bridge did not lift cleanly. Instead, it tore itself apart and split the soundboard in two places in the process. Most of the braces were separated from the spruce top along some of their length.
This video shows the damage and how the guitar was returned to playable condition. Cosmetics were not a major concern so there was no attempt to completely hide the damage that had been done, although there was some finish touch-up done on the areas that had split.
