01 How to use VLAN to separate network in office

Today our topic is: How to isolate various traffic in office network
Generally, there are always various kinds of traffic in office network, such as Computer traffic, Wi-Fi traffic and CCTV traffic.
If all the traffic not isolate to others, it may cause conflict in business network. As shown in the animation, when the huge traffic go through the switch, the delay would occur in Wi-Fi network, server response would be very slow, and the CCTV video loss may happen.
So how to solve it?
Today we will bring 1 solution for you.
Traffic in fact can isolate by VLAN, VLAN also called virtual local area network. VLAN can tag with traffic, so we can create multiple VLANs to bind with different traffic. For example, we use default VLAN1 bind with Wi-Fi traffic; VLAN2 bind with PC traffic; VLAN3 bind with CCTV traffic.
Next, I will tech you how to configure it in a simple way.

Step1: Login gateway eWeb.
First open Ruijie Cloud Application, in your project, click topology, next select gateway to check the details. Then let's open gateway eWeb.

Step2: Configure DHCP on gateway
Click router, basic setting. choose LAN, now let's add DHCP servers and bind with VLAN.
First create DHCP server of PC network bind with VLAN 2
Next create DHCP server of CCTV network bind with VLAN 3
Also we have default VLAN 1 bind with Wi-Fi network.

Step3: Configure VLAN on Switch
First select switch and check the details.
Next start VLAN setting.
In office network, port 24 is the uplink, connect to internet on Gateway, so we make this port 24 as Trunk port to allow all VLANs traffic pass through.
Next Port 1-8 are connected to Computer, so we set it as access port with VLAN 2;
Then port 9-16 are connected to IP Cameras, so we set it as access port with VLAN 3.

Ok, now you can see the Wi-Fi traffic, PC traffic and CCTV traffic in office network are isolate, all traffic goes fluently, it won't conflict anymore.
