Revealed: Franklin Pickleball Machine Speeds

In this video we talk about how we originally tested the Franklin ProShot Pickleball Machine Launcher under very cold conditions of 45 degrees and used 4 “D” batteries as the power source.

Today it’s sunny, about 12 degrees warmer and we are using the AC power adapter for our power source. Let’s see what happens to the launch speed.

Wow, there is a big difference. The balls not only launch further in distance the time was cut by 5 seconds down to 9 seconds per launch. That was the speed when our 4 “D” batteries were new when we first got the Franklin machine.
Recommendation: Use the AC power adapter choice when possible. We will try a different court location next time we take the pickleball machine to the courts since there was not a plug available.
Don’t forget to take an outdoor extension cord with you, since the court that comes with this machine is very short.

Our rating is a 3/5 for this mini Franklin ProShot Pickleball Machine Launcher. We like it because it works with only 15 balls, so you can travel light! It’s very portable and can be set up anywhere on the court.

The downside is the speed of the launching between balls: 9 seconds or so with the AC power adapter and up to 14 seconds with used batteries and in the cold of the winter at 45 degrees.

We find it a fun practice tool for an entry-level pickleball machine. We look forward to trying out other machines to see more options and a speedier launch in the near future!
