In this editorial segment, Mr. Sujit Nair analyzes Prime Minister Modi's speech delivered in response to the opposition's no-confidence motion presented in the parliament. The Prime Minister's speech began at 5 pm, but he only addressed the issue of Manipur at 6:42 pm, coinciding with the opposition MPs walking out.

PM Modi referred to a statement by Amit Shah, mentioning that a court order from Manipur had triggered a series of events leading to violence, resulting in loss of lives and crimes against women. He conveyed that both central and state governments are making efforts to bring peace and restore normalcy. He assured the people of Manipur, particularly women and families, that the nation and the House stand in solidarity to overcome this challenge and restore peace.

The debate on the no-confidence motion started on Tuesday, but PM Modi appeared in the House for the first time on Thursday, briefly during a speech by Chowdhury and later to deliver his response around 5 pm. In his comments on Manipur, Modi criticized the opposition for not agreeing to Shah's requests, preventing a productive discussion. He noted that Shah's detailed, non-political speech aimed to address citizens' concerns and promote peace.

PM Modi highlighted that Manipur's issues have historical roots and blamed the Congress party's politics for problems in the Northeast. He criticized the Congress for not understanding the Northeast's emotions and claimed he had visited the region 50 times out of dedication.

He questioned the opposition's selective outrage and accused them of prioritizing politics over substantive discussions. When the opposition walked out at 6:40 pm, Modi criticized them for avoiding dialogue and accused them of spreading lies and disregarding democratic principles.

In essence, Mr. Sujit Nair's editorial segment discussed Prime Minister Modi's parliamentary speech, which touched upon issues in Manipur, criticized the opposition, and highlighted the historical background of problems in the Northeast while emphasizing his commitment to the region.
