Witch Hunt ・ Cover by Rei Sirena 【歌ってみた】

I think I cranked this out in 4 days or so? The very second I heard this song I lost my absolute mind, dropped everything I was doing, and covered this.

I tried my best to translate the lyrics into English, and I can only hope I did alright by Azari and the song's intentions. Most of it was fairly directly translated, but I rant about a certain line down at the bottom here, explaining the reasoning behind my translation. I may be wrong, but goodness did I try!

I'm Rei, a siren who's not very good at being a siren. My dream is for my voice to reach out far above, from the deep depths I live in. So tell me... Can you hear me?

Okay, onto my lyric rant!

My biggest struggle was with these lines near the beginning of the song:

飽きずに　塗れましょう
青い肌　貴方の味方

I translated it as such:

"Let's immerse without getting tired
Your pale skin, is your supporter"

The literal translation would be more like so:

"Let's paint without getting bored
Blue skin is your ally"

And as a forewarning, my Japanese ability is the same, perhaps worse, than a native toddler, so I have trouble understanding the context of the literal translation.

I tried to fit the lyric translations in with the overall context of the song, which gives a fluid sense of desire for communication, perhaps a confession, after what seems to be betrayal or another negative occurrence that wishes for reconciliation.

So instead of painted blue skin, I see it as a paled complexion - a clammy expression that supports the idea that, well, someone did something they weren't supposed to! And that is paired with an invitation to a conversation that's sure to not bore - and to immerse in it like a painter would their art.

...That's my interpretation, at least! If anyone has a better idea or clearer translation, please enlighten me! I want to learn! PLEASE!
