The No. 1 thing between you and the life you want: your nervous system.

When your nervous system is highly activated, and you feel anxiety, stress, etc, nothing has gone wrong.

All that’s happened is your brain and body are trying to keep you safe.

The way it does that is by trying to prevent you from stepping into the next version of you.

The version of you who:

💚 Goes to the networking event and grows your law practice

💚 The version of you who takes action on the projects you said you’d do

💚 The version of you who sets boundaries

Those feeling don’t mean that you should skip the event, not create a boundary or not take action on the projects.

It simply means that you need to take a moment to create safety for yourself.

Here’s how to do it:

1️⃣ Pause and do 5-7-8 breathing.

Inhale for 5 beats, hold for 7, exhale for 8.

This reduces cortisol levels creating the nervous system activation.

It also brings you back to the present moment. Stress and worry come from thinking about the future and what could potentially go wrong.

Do this breathing technique for about 3 minutes or until you feel calm and can move forward.

2️⃣ Remind yourself that you’re safe and that you’re okay.

3️⃣ Know that there’s nothing wrong. This is normal and you are normal.
