To ensure the safety of national and international dignitaries and prevent any untoward incidents, Delhi Police have strengthened surveillance using cutting-edge technology. For the first time in history, Delhi Police personnel will be deployed with AI-powered smart glasses. These smart glasses can instantly identify criminals, suspects, weapons, and even hidden explosives. Developed by an Indian startup, the technology allows police officers to monitor crowds while on the move, without the need for bulky cameras or surveillance vans. The smart glasses are connected to a smartphone that works as a monitor. Using facial recognition technology linked to a database of over 65,000 criminals, the system alerts officers in real time. A green box indicates a normal individual, while a red box signals a criminal record. The system works offline, ensuring data security. Equipped with thermal sensors, the glasses can also detect concealed weapons and suspicious objects, even in crowded areas. Advanced AI helps identify suspects using old photographs, making it difficult for criminals to evade detection by wearing masks or changing their appearance.
