🎵 Poem Lyrics – The Greedy Dog

In a quiet town by a little green log,
Lived a happy, hungry, friendly dog.
He found a bone, oh what a treat!
He wagged his tail and danced his feet.

He crossed the bridge with joy so wide,
A yummy bone held by his side.
But then he saw, beneath the stream,
A dog like him... or so it seemed!

"Another bone!" he barked in glee,
"I want that one, it's meant for me!"
He opened his mouth, gave a growl,
But — splash! — his bone went down with a howl.

The water rippled, the bone was gone,
No snack to chew, no stick to gnaw on.
He sat and cried, "Oh silly me!
I lost it all from too much greed."

So little pups, both big and small,
Be happy with what you have — that’s all!
Don’t let greed steal joy away,
Be kind, be wise, and share today.
