MPs vote to approve assisted dying: LBC instant reaction

Shelagh Fogarty and LBC’s political editor Natasha Clark react as MPs vote in support of assisted dying after an emotionally-charged debate in the Commons that lasted five hours.

MPs voted 330 to 275 - today's vote was the second reading of the bill with further hurdles for it to clear before it could become law.

The bill will now progress to the committee stage for further scrutiny, before the Lords will be given opportunities to express their views on the measure
