Valorisation of textile waste- A Biological approach | DCPE | UoP

This study reviews the biological methods of textile waste valorization. It highlights the enzymatic hydrolysis and subsequent fermentation of textile waste to produce different value added products such as enzymes, glucose, ethanol and bacterial cellulose. Biological processing of textile waste can be considered as a better solution for environmental problems due to huge accumulation of textile waste and furthermore, it contributes towards a circular economy in textile industry.
