Northern Kimberley Backroads! BETTER THAN THE GIBB? Deluxe Remote Unimog Camping (Eps.33)

This week we're showing you some beautiful spots around Wyndham before hitting the gravel again!
We drove up the five rivers lookout, which provides a stunning view of the surroundings. If the weather is good, definitely drive up that steep hill :)
Later we met up with Benny and Sally from Kimberley Dreaming and they took us to the mudflats to watch the sunset. Such an amazing spot and the sunset was on point!
The following day, we took the backroads down towards Kununurra and got told a little secret local camping spot by the river. After driving along a pretty interesting track, which is according to Google Maps an actual road, we finally made it to the secret spot! All we can tell you is that it was absolutely amazing! The sunset was insane and the spot just beautiful. You can see a few crocs, cows and Wallabies jumping around. It was so peaceful and perfect for a night.
Since we still had a few other places on the list, we left the next day and had a look at Blackrock Falls, which wasn't running at all :D

Heading further south we finally made it to the infamous Ivanhoe Crossing. A concreted but pretty long crossing with fast flowing water. It is a lot of fun to drive across and it definitely gave our truck a bit of a clean as well.
And because we wanted to film it for you guys, Patrick had to drive it three times :D (PS: Most people we know have driven it multiple times too).

After the crossing there were two more places we needed to see before leaving Kununurra again. The first one is Molly Springs. A short walk with a beautiful water hole underneath a waterfall. A perfect spot to relax for a bit and really enjoy nature.

The last place was Kangaroo Haeven! Mandy, who runs it, is so lovely and gave us a tour and explained what she's doing every day. To our surprise, we didn't only see Kangaroos and Wallabies but also birds, parrots, snakes, and sometimes she even takes care of injured crocodiles.
If you're around Kununurra, definitely stop by! The tiny little joeys are adorable and feeding them reminded Jele of her little lambs (well, they are not little anymore...). We loved the experience and if you wanna support Mandy as well, check out her website kangaroohaevenwildliferescue.com.au

Since this was the last spot in Kununurra, we left and headed south towards the Purnululu National Park, which you'll get to see next time :)
