Bidding Battle Boosts Klimt Masterpiece to Record Price

Watch the four-way bidding battle that pushed Gustav Klimt’s Bauerngarten to a new record price for a landscape by the artist at auction, during Sotheby’s March 2017 Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale in London. One of the greatest works by the artist to ever appear at auction, Bauerngarten sold for £47.97m ($59.3m) – the third highest price for any work sold at auction in Europe.
