Hey, everyone, it's Angeline right here at etrailer. Today we have the lock for your MOS UpLift system. So if you have the UpLift adapter for your roof rack, but you wanna make sure that you are protecting your investment, well, this is gonna be the lock made by MOS that will work perfectly for securing this system to your roof rack. This is a bracket that attaches through your UpLift adapter and then goes down around your roof rack and is secured with the included lock so it doesn't interfere with any of the accessories on the UpLift, nor does it interfere with any of the clamps underneath. Now, with this in place, you also have to think about certain dimensions, though, especially if you have a roof rack that makes it bit close to your vehicle. The lock is gonna be a bracket that fits into your UpLift from above, and then it goes down around your crossbars and is secured with the lock included with your system.

So because it's designed to work with your UpLift, this will not interfere with any accessories you have attached to the UpLift, but it also sits at the same height as the clamps that you use to secure around your bars. This lock will also include two keys that are key alike. So I like to keep one on my key chain and one in the glove box as a spare. So these will fit into the barrel of the lock. It's gonna look a little different compared to let's say, a regular house key in that it fits in and it works with a trigger mechanism.

So there's a little spring in there and you have to make sure that the key is in there once it's in the unlock position. So to explain what I mean, I have the barrel and I want to lock the system. So I turn the key within the lock and then I line it up with our pin. Now, it's not gonna actually secure until I turn the key again, and if I can remove it, then I know it's locked. You also have this dust cover at the end of your barrel that you can push over it, and that will help protect that barrel from getting clogged up with dirt, dust, debris, or flying insects.

Now, I didn't lock it properly the first time, so I encountered a good amount of wobble between the pin and the lock. But now that I did it properly, after that, you can see that there's minimal movement there. What I am not as happy about though is that there may be some movement up and down of your lock with the bracket, but this will change depending on just the size of your crossbars and your roof rack. So smaller roof racks may have a lot more wobble than this. I've had the MOS UpLift on my vehicle for several weeks now, and I've really enjoyed the experience with it.

I've never really been worried about theft. One because I'm in areas that crime isn't that huge, but two, most people don't really even understand what the system is, much less know how to remove it. But with that in mind, since it's just simply loosening these wing nuts, then you'd be able to undo the clamps. If I wanted extra peace of mind, this extra lock will be very helpful for that. I'm not concerned about the rattle of the lock up and down because honestly, my kayak and its straps make so much more noise than that on the road. But if my kayak was off, then it's a simple matter of adding or removing that lock if I'm parked somewhere overnight, that adds to that peace of mind. So if you have your MOS UpLift adapter and you wanna protect your investment, this is gonna be a very easy add-on that works perfectly with it. So you can find that right here at etrailer. You can also find any of the other accessories that go with the UpLift. And if you have any questions, just give us a call or send us a message. But today, my name is Angeline here at etrailer, and this was a look at the lock for your MOS UpLift list-assist system.
