FULL INTERVIEW! I chatted with the great-grandson of Titanic's Quartermaster Hichens, Simon Medhurst! Often referred to as the "man who sank Titanic", Robert Hichens was the man at the helm when Titanic hit the iceberg. His behavior in lifeboat 6 has been heavily scrutinized over the years and sadly he was often labeled a "coward" by the media. His infamous depiction in James Cameron's Titanic shows Robert Hichens telling Margaret Brown aka "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" to "shut that hole in your face". Due to this negative portrayal and heavy criticism, I wanted to sit down with Simon and hear more about the life of Quartermaster Hichens directly from his very own relative. Here's what I learned!
