'Be Thou My Vision' is a traditional Christian hymn of Irish origin. Its text, translated into English by Eleanor Hull in 1912, is often attributed to six-century poet Dallán Forgaill, and the music to which these words are set is a traditional Irish folk tune called 'Slane'.

This evocative arrangement by Andrew Wainwright was commissioned by the Nebraska Brass Band and its Musical Director Glenn Greet. The arranger responds to the ethereal quality of the tune with an exquisite layering of texture. The three-verse setting grows to a glorious climax on the final verse, before dying away to a serene ending.
