A man named Saddam was shot in an encounter with the police on Thursday (October 12, 2023) in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. Saddam was accused of attempted rape and murder of a 13-year-old minor student studying in a madrassa. Injured Saddam is being treated in police custody. The police have announced that they will file a tough plea against the accused in the court and get him punished as soon as possible.
This case is of Tikuniya police station area of ​​Kheri district. Superintendent of Police here IPS Ganesh Saha said that on October 8, information about a missing girl was received in the police station. The police had registered a case and were investigating this matter. The very next day, on October 9, the girl's body was found in a sugarcane field. Several police teams were deployed to uncover this incident. During the investigation, the name of the deceased's neighbor Saddam came to light.
According to the police, on October 8, when the girl was returning home after studying in a madrasa, Saddam met her on the way. He called the girl to him. Because she already knew Saddam, the girl went to him. After some time, Saddam started pulling the girl towards the sugarcane field. When the girl became suspicious of Saddam's intentions and feared something untoward would happen to her, she started screaming loudly. Thinking that no one else should know about this, Saddam strangled the girl.
Due to which the girl died on the spot . Taking the opportunity, Saddam escaped. It is being told that when the police found Saddam's location, it was surrounded. Seeing himself surrounded by the police, Saddam started firing at the police. Saddam was given a chance to surrender but when he did not agree, the police had to open fire in self-defense. The bullet hit Saddam's leg.
Injured Saddam is undergoing treatment in police custody. SP Kheri said that effective advocacy will be done against Saddam in the court and efforts will also be made to get him punished as soon as possible.
Let us tell you that on October 8, 2023, the police had registered a case of kidnapping against unknown persons. When the girl's body was found, her clothes were torn. There were injury marks on the entire body including the head. The mother of the deceased said that her daughter's mouth was full of mud.
