Met police launch preliminary investigation into Syrian president's wife

The Metropolitan Police has launched a preliminary investigation into the British-born wife of Syrian President - Bashar al Assad.

Asma al Assad is accused of supporting and encouraging terrorism.

If charged, it could pave the way for the Met to seek her extradition.
