Описание к видео [MES REAL ENGLISH] Intermediate & Business English Study Guide

Welcome to your MES eLesson Study Guide!

I'm Natalie.

In this video, I’ll describe the content
of MES eLessons,

and the most effective wayto study using MES’ conjugation system.

I'll alsoexplain the "how" of speaking English.

Before every eLesson, you will be provided
with a list of vocabulary words.

These words come directly from your eLesson!

It’s important to study these words by printing
out the list and making flashcards.

We recommend that you study your native language’s
translation first, and then memorize the English equivalent.

For example:

allocate

This will lock the word into your memory.

By studying the lesson’s vocabulary list
more than 5 times a day, you can achieve instant recall.

Included in the vocabulary list are prepositional
phrases and time references.

Remember, prepositional phrases begin with
a preposition,

function as adjectives and adverbs, and never
contain the subject of the sentence.

As an adjective, the prepositional phrase
will answer the question:

Which ones?

For example:

“The buyers in the
other office are ready.”

Which buyers?

The ones in the other office!

As an adverb, a prepositional phrase will
answer questions such as:

How?

When?

Where?

For example,

“Jack is tired from a long business trip.”

How did Jack get tired?

From a long business trip!

“I’ll call you after the meeting.”

When will you call me?

After the meeting!

“We had a drink at the bar.”

Where did we have a drink?

At the bar!

Prepositional phrases need to be memorized
because they are not governed by any strict rules.

Also included in the vocabulary are time references.

Time references describe a period or a point
in time.

For example

“I am going to meet you for dinner tomorrow.”

When are you going to meet me for dinner?

Tomorrow!

Finally, your vocabulary list provides you
with the latest modern expressions.

English is an evolving language, and MES believes
that in order to speak fluently, like a native speaker,

you should know and be able to use
modern slang and idioms.

For example

“He’s snowed under at work.”

“She crashed out early last night.”

The googoodan is a system of learning, memorizing
and fluently speaking the English tenses.

Stemming from the quick memorization of times
tables, MES has developed the googoodan format

to help students instantly recall and speak
the various tenses.

For example

In Math terms

In English terms: Using the verb “work out.”

If I want to ask you about now

Are you working out now?

If I want to ask you about yesterday evening:

Did you work out yesterday evening?

If I want to ask
you about tomorrow evening:

Are you going to work out tomorrow evening?

If I want to ask you about any time in the
past:

Have you ever worked out?

If I want to ask you about recently

Have you been working out recently?

This is why it is
extremely important to master your MES Googoodan

–

it’s the core of speaking English and our
teaching.

Every tense is provided to you on our website.

We recommend that you choose a tense per week

and practice running through a googoodan as quickly and fluently as possible.

How do you practice an MES googoodan?

It’s easy!

Watch me.

Suppose I want to practice “present progressive.”

First, I choose a verb:

“organize” plus "a major event"plus the
time reference “today.”

Then I plug the verb and time reference into
the questions and the answers, like this

“Am I organizing a major event today?”

“Yes, I’m organizing a major event today.”

“Are you organizing a major event today?”

“Yes, you’re organizing a major event
today.”

“Is Lucy organizing a major event today?”

“Yes, she’s organizing a major event today.”

“Is Dan organizing a major event today?”

“Yes, he’s organizing a major event today.”

“Are we organizing a major event today?”

“Yes, we’re organizing a major event today.”

“Are they organizing a major event today?

“Yes, they’re organizing a major event
today.”
