Описание к видео Planting Sagebrush seedlings in the Draw fire burn area

On two days in the end of March, a group of 20 people from the BLM Carson City District along with a few partners from Sierra Club and University of Nevada Reno planted approximately 5,300 sagebrush seedlings within an area that burned in July 2017. The Draw fire burned 27,500 acres in the Stillwater Field Office, including priority habitat for sage-grouse as well as an active lek. The sagebrush were planted in small islands concentrated around the lek to help establish some cover for grouse. Some of the burned area was also aerial seeded and seeded with sagebrush via UTV. This area will be fenced and temporarily rested to grazing so the range has a chance to reestablish vegetation.
