Queensland's LNP vows to chainsaw consultancy bill | ABC News

The LNP has vowed to rein in almost $6.8 billion in spending on consultants if it wins government, flagging it would instead develop public servants' skills and saying it wants pay packages to be "competitive" with those of private organisations such as KPMG.

The plan was derided as a fantasy by the incumbent ALP government ahead of Saturday's election, which tried raising the spectre of jobs cuts being required to make such numbers reality.
